“I’ve been using the Swan Stand Patio Heater to warm individual rooms in my house as central heating has become too costly. Typically, I’ll blast it on medium or maximum for 10-15 minutes to quickly warm up a room, then switch it to low to maintain a comfortable temperature. This is in conditions ranging from -3 to +3 degrees Celsius.
Because it’s an infrared heater, it warms objects rather than just the air. The heat lasts much longer than with electric coil or halogen heaters, where warmth seems to vanish quickly. Plus, it’s a much more comfortable heat to have directly on you since it doesn’t require a fan.
A quick tip: When you first get it, run it for an hour or so in a well-ventilated room to fully cure the coating. It might give off some odor during this time and even set off smoke alarms, but that goes away once the heater is ‘seasoned.’ I highly recommend this heater!”
